: Borrow another cd-rom swap them round see if you get the same problem , if you do , uninstall cd from hardware config , take cd-rom out when pc is shutdown ,
: startup pc , shutdown and reinstall pc when pc restarts 98 will reinstall cd for you if problem is still occuring there must be a motherboard interface problem.
