Before uninstalling and reinstalling winword again, goto start>search> and search for the following file:Normal.dot / you should find at least one copy or more.
If you do, delete all copies of this file.
Finally, try again to open your document in Word.
If that doesn't work,do the same as above except find and delete all "*rmal.dot " files.
Try and open Word again
