I would run a full virus scan
: Working on a friend's machine running Win98. 128 RAM, 6.9 GB free on hard drive, AMD K6 3D Processor.
: Several attempts to load AOL v7 from CD results in fatal exception OE 01778BFF9DBA7
: Clicked off blue screen and receive message:AOLCINST caused a general protection fault in module KRNL.386.EXE at 0001:00002d51
: On retries I receive the same fatal exception screen and variations of the second screen which generally name the KRNL.386.EXE as the problem. On one attempt, KERNEL.32.DLL was listed as the fault site.
: Appreciate any suggestions to resolve. The computer appears to be working fine otherwise, running MS Office and other programs without problem.
