Yesterday, I found myself with a trojan/worm. Everything I tried seemed to make it worse. I decided to repair windows. It went to a certain point and then said, "asms" not found. I checked here and tried everything mentioned, to no avail. So, I decided to reinstall windows (same disk as always) but this time, instead of putting it in the same directory and losing all original hard drive files and folders, I put it in another drive...I think.
Now, I can start up the pc, AND, I can see all of my original files/folders, but its running on the new installation. Is there a way to go back OR system restore to the day earlier? after I've installed winxp home for the second time? OR, what other options do I have here that will allow me to keep all info and continue?
