Santa Cruz card -blue screen on installation - me Post a Reply
From: Chris Ashby on 05/31/2002
I have a Dell Dimension 8200 MT 1.8GHZ P4. I am running Windows 2000 professional. On installing a new turtle beach santa cruz card supplied by Dell a blue screen appears with the following message:

***STOP: 0x0000001E (0xC0000005,0xB9B20731, 0x00000000,0x00000000) KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT HANDLED

*** Address B9B20731 base at B9B11000, Date Stamp 3c1bfc0d - tbcspud.sys

Beginning dump of physical memory

Physical memory dump complete

Contact you system administrator or technical support group.

On starting up again, the system, in checking the files, reports unrecoverable error in control panel of santa cruz. The files are corrected and the sytem restarts but without the sound card working.

I have tried the sound card in both PCI1 and PCI4 - PCI2 and PCI3 are occupied by modem and network card but both with the same result. The interupt request in PCI1 is 03 and in PCI4 is 11 and both report no conflicts.

I have tried disabling the modem and network card and USBs and then installing - still no success. I have diabled virus software before installing.

I have been in touch with Dell but as yet they have not come up with the answer. They have referred me to this site.

I have upgraded the driver to the most up to date.

Any one got any idea how to get the sound card working?

Yep, I've got the exact same problem.

Tried all 3 drivers available for download on Dell's site.
Tried the drivers available for download on the Turtle Beach site.
Tried uninstalling video card and network card before installing.

Always getting the same BSOD / KMODE_EXCEPTION. So annoying...

Anyone get this thing to work?

take a look at your sound card and check and see if there is any label with a product ID. contact dell with that product id. mostly your sound card may need to be replaced
