: I am not sure how picky you are about what gets entered in your fields that are set for a specific decimal place. I would set these number fields to 'general number' and see if it imports correctly. I would imagine that you can change it back to the decimal setting you have after you import. I know this could be laborous if you have a lot of fields to change, but I think that there is a shortcut to do a large amount of changes for a bunch of fields, at once. I will have to check on that.

: I am surprised that the Jet4 SP6 did not work!

It turns out to be a reload of the ODBC drivers did the trick! Thanks
I now have to revisit the crashing of access when I click sent to and RTF and send it via my email (ExpressIT).
I will let you know how I do

: It is possible that you have a subreport in your main report. This is what Microsoft recommends in KBA Q180458 (support.microsoft.com):

: 1)In the Database window, right-click the form, and then click Save As Report on the menu that appears.

:
: 2)In the Save Form As Report dialog box, type a name for the report, and then click OK.

:
: 3)Open the main report in Design view.

:
: 4)Right-click the control that contains the datasheet form, and then click Properties.

:
: 5)Click the Data tab and change the source object from Form. to Report., where is the name of the datasheet form and is the name of the report you saved in step 2.

: 6)export to rtf

: Let me know if this is not the case.

Thanks I will try the above...However..
I took your initial advice and upgraded to office2000
unfortunately I am now unable to link to my ODBC dbase as 2000 doesn't read a decimal place with more than 2 spaces!
It comes up with an error message the decimal feild's precision is too small to accept the numeric you attempted to add". MS website suggested jet4 s pack6 but that hasn't worked..
Have you any more thoughts?

:
: Do you have Microsoft Word 97 installed as well? I assume you have the whole office 97 suite of products in stalled.

: Also, I hate to suggest an upgrade (I hate it when people tell me to do this as a solution), however, you should be aware that Access 97 got a big face lift in Access 2000 or XP. Microsoft fixed a lot of bugs.

: Let me know if you have Word installed as well or another document editor installed. This may make a difference.

: I do not believe that ExpressIT would cause the conflict.

Yes I do have office pro, but when I SEND TO in word or
or XL it seems to be fine.
Cheers
