I have just helped set up a system for a friend. Its an athlon64 2800 on an ASROCK mobo, 512DDR, 80GB SATA but as he doen't play games its got an Nvidia geforce fx5200 128mb gfx card. Its been fine for about 2 months, but now it randomly crashes similar to the grey lines on one of the other threads, however this one the display develops coloured lines and then the display goes off completely. The keyboard locks up, the reset button wont work, and nor does the power button. The computer is still on though, as he has something installed that makes noises every few minutes. Have tried different monitors still the same. I believe that this is a card problem. Any ideas what to upgrade to keeping reasonably low on budget.Any ideas welcome
