CD-RW Causes Error 0028 00000000?

Hi, Im using Windows ME and just latey when I insert I cd into my drive the following blue screen error appears 'Error:0028:00000000'
if I press enter I'll get a different variation of it. ie, 'Error:0028:00000003' Just before the problem started I re-installed the burning software I used to use before I formatted my drive. It's Adaptec Easy CD Creator. And my burner Is a Sony CD-RW CRX140E. I Tried Uninstalling and then reinstalling but the problem still remains. I tried looking for a new driver for the burner on the net but I can't find any,
Any help would be GREATLY Appreciated, Thanks

IAM HAVING TROUBLE NOW TOO! iT WAS WORKING FINE BUT RECENTLY WE HAD A STORM WHICH KNOCKED THE PHONE LINES OUT SO THE COMPUTER WENT DOWN TOO. AND WHEN VERIZON TURNED IT BACK ON I GET THE BLUE SCREEN WITH OE:0028:00000001 ON IT. THEN THE HOLD SYSTEM STOPS WORKING EVEN AFTER I HIT ENTER.IF ANYONE KNOWS A SOLUTION PLEASE HELP!!!!
