I had the same problem. I couldn't access the partion I had XP installed on (the additional error message I recieved was BOOT.INI file fucked up). The sollution turned out to be to install a second OS on an accesiable partion. Somebody told me there is only one BOOT.INI file on your PC which is shared by the different OS's you have installed. In other words a new installation on a different partion mends the BOOT.INI file and the problem was solved. I hope this helps
