Computer is a Dell laptop 500mhz etc running windows 98. The computer had nothing on it so I installed a few utilities such as DivX, windows media player, Direct X, windows media player codecs and I then restarted the computer after insalling all of them in one go, and windows loaded fine, I then installed Nero burning rom and its componants and Adobe Acrobat reader and reg cleaner and restarted and my nastie little blue error screen came up... (An exception 0e has occurred at 0028:00000017 in VxD ---. THis was called from 0028:C188D817 in VxD ---.)
I went to safe mode and uninstalled all of what I had put on but the error still came up, I then tried to install 98 again which seemed to work fine, until the plug and play bit - ( the last bit after the computer has resarted) came up and the error screen came up again - I am at a loss and have tried to recover my old registry which wont work either.
