It's probably a virus or other malware. You should all get Ad-Aware from Lavasoft and Spybot Search and Destroy. They're free for home use, and might remove the problem.If running something like that is what caused the error in the first place, then it is more than likely due to something left in your registry after the removal.
You can check msconfig for blank entries or for something that doesn't belong, and if you have XP you can check your prefetch for anything goofy, then remove the file from wherever it resides on your hard drive.
Try techsupport forum if you get stuck. They'll have lots of nifty things you can do to clean up your computer, and they're all very nice. Be paitent with them though; they have a lot of inquiries to get to and they're all volunteers.
