Windoes 98 Freezing & Un-freezing

My windoes 98 machine always freezes for about 30 seconds when i open IE 6 and enter in a URL. After 30 seconds of not being able to Ctl+Alt+Del or move mouse it starts working again and then about 15 mins later it freezes again...

It also sometimes occurs when i use the find file function... when i type in what i am looking for... and also sometimes occurs when i type in e.g. c:\ into the address bar!

Any ideas?

I have fixed this several time this week using a program called Ad-aware. It is free for the download, here is the link. Install it, get the latest update and run it. See if it finds anything on your p.c. and clean it off.
