I am running Internet Explorer 98 2nd Edition 4.10.222A. Product Version 6.00.2800.1188. I am receiving this message about 6 times a day while I am on line, which closes down my browser:
"This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" Following are the details:

I have done some research and came up with a possible Registry Editor problem, but I would need "step by step" directions to fix anything! Any help would be appreciated. Oh yes, I had also just installed a new Broadxent V.92 PCI FAX Modem the day before this started. I had a problem with my phone not ringing in (I'm on DSL Sprint). The repair person came and said it was probably my modem. I replaced the modem, but it didn't fix the problem. I replaced the ethernet cable and the ringing problem was fixed. I still have both modems in, but the Broadxent is the default one.
