Oops...RE:HP Director Script error Post a Reply
From: Sue on 08/07/2003
Sorry, but I wrote earlier with that question about the scripting error when trying to access HPDirector. I forgot to mention that I just got a new Hewlett-Packard PSC2175 All in One Printer. It is the one without the fax. It is brand new on the market. I am wondering if the printer might be defective, or if it is my computer causing this problem.
Please look at my earlier post.
Thank you.....

I had script problems with HPdirector and other PSC2175 tools and traced it to an old version of wscript on my machine (win98). Go to to the miscrosoft site and download/install the latest wscript.exe (v5.6). Good luck.

in other reports of this error... hp has suggested that 'a malicious pop-up' might be the problem... because the hp scanning software uses internet explorer in the scanning process... a design that is destined for failure imho... if you have photoshop or the like try using it's twain import funtion... hopefully bypassing hp's crappy software
