You can check and even change the IRQ usage of many devices, such as modems and network interface cards, using the Device Manager. From the Start Menu, open Settings, select Control Panel, and then double-click System. Next, click the Device Manager tab in the System Properties window. Then, click the plus sign (+) next to any device categories to show the devices themselves. Highlight the device and click Properties. Click the Resources tab and look for Interrupt Request. Also look in the Conflicting Device List for any conflicts the system has identified. (NOTE: You will not be able to do this with every device. Some of them will not have a Resources tab.)To change the IRQ, highlight Interrupt Request and click Change Setting. This won’t be possible for all devices; for some, you will first need to uncheck the Use Automatic Settings box. (WARNING: Be careful when changing IRQs./warning) There is also some software that does the work for you. go to the Norton site to see it. peace
