Cannot get beyond blue screen, 0E error Post a Reply
From: Lucille on 03/28/2003
Pentium 3, Windows ME

When my computer starts up I get an 0E:0167:82EEE930 error message. I try to boot it in Safe Mode and it gives me the same message. I tried to go thru the Step by Step confirmation process but I don't know what to do there. I tried to put in different memory cards but the same thing still happens, so I guess it is not a RAM problem. I am stuck. I cannot get beyond this blue screen and boot my PC. If someone has a suggestion please I would love to hear it before I spend good money to take it into the shop. Thank you

Addition to the last reply you said in your message that the same problem persists in safe mode, if so then its probably one/some of the windows core files or a hardware problem causing the issue.

Using step by step confermation is pritty straight forward.

Firstly get to the windows startup menu by pressing F8.
Once you are there you have to ways to get to step by step.

1.Go to step by step from the menu
2.Go to safe mode then press enter and imediately afterwards press
F8 again. (You may have to do this more that once to get it right)
3.Run through the options answering yes to all but when you get to load all windows drivers press 'N' for no and windows will load in safe mode. If windows loads ok with the user graphical interface then you have a program error or driver error.
-------------
You may want to run this step by step confermation twice if you don't get to the option load all windows drivers...
-------------
Go to the device manager and remove all of the drivers in the device manager window. Then boot windows normally, see if you can get access. Goto control panel and go to add hardware and get windows to setup all your hardware. The refreshing if drivers may help. You will not be able to load all drivers until you have loaded the primary and secondry hard disk controllers.

Also go to add and remove programs while you are in safe mode and remove any unwanted software or remove software youi can re-install.

The handler of the exception 0E: is related to the CPU returning the address of the invalid code, There willbe a file included in the error...What is it...?

You may have to replace this file, how you do it depends on the file type, also you might have to take more time is trouble shooting this problem...

Keep me posted on your progress at :Jasonmerlin20@hotmail.com
