Its a known fact that graphics cards do get hot, the heat issue could be a factor along with corrupted driver files and an aging video card.Before you condem the card try these solutions first.
1.Improve the cooling of the card with an extra fan that is situated in the PCI card area. The fan is designed to be screwed into the PCI card attachment area so it will face paralell to the video card hand help to keep it cool.
2. Another thing is to reload the drivers for the card, get new ones from www.video-drivers.com, you will probably have to register freely at this site before you download...
