Missing "find" in Explorer tools Post a Reply
From: Bernie on 02/01/2003
I was using the latest version of TweakUI (Windows Powertools) and somehow removed the "find" feature used for locating files by name or date or size. I discovered this after TweakUI was uninstalled from the system. Reinstalling TweakUI did not resolve the problem as it no longer brings up the ioption to remove the "find" function. How do I manage to reinstall the find feature? I've tried reinstalling WIN98SE but that hasn't solved the problem. Of course, now I have no means of searching for the executable file for "find." Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem, playing around with X-Setup. I believe it was because I removed the FIND feature/function from the Start menu. I later found out that there were multiple references across the Registry for the entire combination of Find, Find Files, Search, and F3. See if you can go back through TweakUI and figure out if you removed the Find from the Start menu. Otherwise, you may have to download and run X-Setup to get to the "option."
