Outlook opens ok, can view message contents in preview pane but when I try to open the message or any other action get error that outlook.exe has caused errors and will be closed by Windows. Outlook closes. Have tried everything in the Knowledge base to include new profile, pst, disabling add in's, un-installing, re-installing. No effect. This has me boggled. running in Win 2000 pro, 1.6 , 128 meg ram.Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks

another solution to this problem is the following: Import the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0 and the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook keys from a not-infected PC in the infected registry and reconfigure the mail. After reboot everything schould be OK. (It's ok before reboot also, reboot is just to be sure.)good luck, Pieter

I had this problem with a machine, and it was during synchronizing offline files only. It generated the error whenever it finished and was completing the Log. Anyone know of solutions? running office 2000 SP3 with Outlook Patch. Also ran the OST checking to verify that the file was not corrupt.

Well, I downloaded the hotbar uninstall from it's own site and did not attempt to use the add remove programs because there were several friends that experienced the outlook crashing. It seems pretty safe if you uninstall the way I did above.

Hello Bob,I had the same error message and the issue was during the "hotbar" uninstall. This is how I fix my issue. Tools >> Options >>> Mail Format .....I did not have an entry in the Send in this message format : I chose one and it worked for me.
Hope this helps, Luc
