When I try to run Internet Explorer 6 (computer uses Windows 98) I get an error message saying, "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If problem persists, contact the program vendor."
The details are:

it always happen and close internet explorer and other programs

hi i have one problem when i work in windows i get the message as -

not every time but some times.

Cont. from earlier post -the Excel template got corrupted as there was no anti-virus software installed. I advise to ensure that your anti-virus software is up to date and run a scan for viruses.

I got the a fatal exception "OE has occured at 0167:BFF9DFFF. THE CURRENT APPLICATION WILL BE TERMINATED." error reported today and found that the error occured after Excel clsoed with the following error -EXCEL Caused a general protection fault in the module USER.EXE AT 001 E: 0000026.C5 this above occured because of a corrupt Excel template - fix at - http://www.computerrepairservice.com/messages/3729.html.

for kernel32.dll u just do one thing,
step one fine the file *.pwl
when u find that file delete that file
and restart your computer.
now u dont got any further problem like kernel32.dll

Anyone with AOL installed on their computer? i have altered my dialup connection settings which seems to have corrected the problem. My last post didn't work - but this seems to be more stable.

Anyone using - (don't laugh!) AOL - if so try ugrading to or reinstalling AOL 7. This seems to have corrected the problem for me - hope it helps as I know that this problem drove me mad! (EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 0167:bff9dfff)

open internet explorer
if you can..if you cannot.. right click on the E icon on your desktop and go to properties.. if you can open ie.. then go to tools internet options.
alternately view/internet options.. depending on your version. click the advanced tab.. scroll down and place a checkmark next to disable script debugging and uncheck "diplay a message on every script error" see if this cures your problem..
(addressed to the pdm error) as for the explorer performed illegal operation)
kernel32.dll this could be from a lot of different causes.
reinstall IE 6 then reboot the machine TWICE before doing
anything else.. otherwise.. I dunno...

I am using windows 98.Earlier IE was giving an invalid page fault error so,as u said i have downloaded IEradiator and executed it.Again i have installed IE version 6.Now again its showing error msg:

I have downloaded IEradiator and installed IE again but still the same problem persist.Can you pls sugget me some other solution?

I had a similar problem in IE. This might work for you. Download a file called IERadicator. There were two files 2001 and V6 I used 2001. It complete removes IE. First make sure you have the IE6setup file on your computer. Run Radicator, it removes your IE completely. Then run IE6setup and it makes a fresh install and seems to fix those annoying errors. It worked for me and I was about to give up.
Good luck.Just search IERadicator, you'll find it!
