Under administrator I get sound - when I switch to a user there is no sound. I've shared as many folders as I can think of that might affect this, even gone so far as to make a user into an administrator - nothing works.

This happened to me, and I fixed it by changing the default sound playback device in each user account to the one being used by the administrator, or the original user.
