My Problem Was:Taskbar Freezes When Connecting To Internet The taskbar would freeze up, although the computer itself was not hanging and all internet functions were as normal. Solution: Systematically eliminated possible causes e.g. firewall, antivirus, notification area, ballons etc. Final solution was annoyingly simple: Only remove "Language Bar" from Taskbar. Worked for me; Good Luck. Arman.

Intracom sucks, I've installed on a linuxserver a Intracom modem. I'm using dial on demand, but sometimes the modem responds with ERROR and i can not get him working. Using minicom it is not responding to ATZ.

I live in Greece and like everybody in Greece I have the Intracom Netmod USB ISDN modem provided by OTE. I have the same problem *** with two PCs. One has WinXPPro and the second one has Windows XP Home edition. I had no problem until resently when I decided to Update Both Operating systems from Microsoft Update. So I think that the problem is one of the recent MS updates. Though I think Intracom should release a fix to this problem.*** The problem is that when I connect to the Internet my taskbar freezes for five minutes but I can surf the Internet. Even alt-ctrl-del give no results for five minutes. Then Everything are OK again. Sometimes especially when I install a new program and reboot I have no Internet. In diagnostics "Query modem" I get an error that another application is using the port. In this case when I try to connect to the Internet I just get a dialing .... message. Then I have to press cancel to stop the dialing procedure. After this whatever I do next, when I try to shutdown Windows XP, my PC logs off and freezes. I must push the power off button (for ~7 sec).

Indeed I have the same problem, not only that though. My pc sometimes freezes before the connection, and when I try to disconnect. If you guys have XP or 2K, check the running processes. My PC starts to freeze when svchost.exe uses 100% CPU Power. And this happens only when I'm using the netmod isdn USB modem. Not even the latest drivers helped. Any script maybe ?Thanks
