Im really annoyed to receive this message,"Winword has caused an error in HPFwin13.dll" after a few seconds everytime I opened WinwordXP. I cannot start my encoding because of this problem. Also, HPfwin13.dll caused a problem in Paint shop Pro 5. I also tried to copy what I saved from Winword and paste it to excel and when I started to print it this error message then appeared. I tried necessary remedies to fix the problem but to no avail. Like scanning the disk, which usually responded that it doesnt have any errors. I used up all alternatives just to fix the problem. I even went to the point of giving up and leave the problem behind. Please if you can, help me with regards to this problem. Im using Windows 98 upgraded to Windows ME and using Winword XP, Excel XP. All my office document is in XP. Using Pentium II though. Thank You. Hoping for a positive reply.

Definitely get an updated driver from www.hp.com. You probably just did an upgrade to your operating system over your windows 98. This is not the best idea, as you are learning now I am sure. The driver is probably an older version for Windows 98. Most windows 98 drivers worked with Windows ME but not all.Just get the Windows ME version of the HP printer you have and install. This will fix your problem. If not, then feel free to post back for more information. Computerpilot

Windows is the real problem but did you try to uninstall your printer drivers? Winword causes problems all the time, see the other postings about winword crashes
