I was getting VXD errors once or twice a day, I thought they were related to the AMD processor - now I have a Celeron and I have it 7 to 8 times a day !I'm runnning WinME - is there anyone out there that could help me ? Thanks,

The standard fix for this in my company - if reinstalling windows doesn't fix it, is to change both motherboard and ram - the theory is that memory is corrupt! NB I have ran PC diagnostics on both memory and motherboard from systems with frequent Fatal exceptions and found no fault!!

VXD errors that I have had were because of how crappy the SCSI interface on win 95 is.Upgrade to Win 98 Second Edition, there were some updates done there. Go to corel.com and download their free operating system, it will make your life so much better. Also, there's a update for Ios.vxd , or was one, but check your version first to see what's newer (what a pain, you would think computers would be smart enough to..... wait a minute, then MS couldn't charge you for support, never mind). Try searching the net for a file called Iosupd.exe , it has a updated driver. If you just installed a SCSI card or something, then figure this is the problem for sure. Try removing SCSI if you can and see if it goes away to find out what it truly is. : may be a IRQ problem with the CD, but you may want to check that all IC's on the motherboard are pressed down in their sockets, and that the fingers on your interface cards are clean. Make sure you have the IRQ's set properly in your BIOS, maybe they got changed. : : I am getting tons of VXD error and fatal exceptions on my WIN95 200mhz 2.0 gig comp. sirs, I have recently replaced my exiting graphics card for a riva tnt card. It may have n connection what so ever but, every time I format and re-install win98 it will run fine for a few times, and then all of a sudden it will give the following message upon either restarting, or shutting down and returning to the machine several hours later: c:\WINDOWS\system\vmm32.vxd: missing/unable to load If I then go into safe mode, and restart, then 90% of the time it will load win98 correctly. The brief spec. of my machine is as follows; 450 p3 chip, SCSI CDRW and Scanner, 32meg Graphics card, 128 meg ram, 8.4 gig h/drive, I have as already mentioned re-formatted and reinstalled win98 several times, and am now getting to the "pulling hair out" stage. ANY comments or help that you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Also the CDRW is giving a Buffer under run error, any ideas??? Best regards, Paul Robinson.
