My sound has just started acting up. The "ding" or other sounds won't stop once they start. They just keep repeating constantly. I've set " no sound" under the Sound in Control Panel and that stops the actual sound but no games will run because of the sound problem. Win 98 and IE 5 have been reinstalled. Computer is: AMD K6 450 MHz, 96 MB RAM, Creative Soundblaster Live! Value sound card, Diamond Monster Fusion 2D/3d video card (16 MB, Asus 40x CD-Rom, Acer 4x4x32 CDRW, Zoltrix 33.6 modem, 4 GB HD.I've reset the sound card settings to the default settings.

Change the Ding to a Dong works every time =): I had this happen to me once, it was doing some real strange things. : I decided to get a new sound card anyway, I was using some off brand pile of crap anyway, and re-installed windows. Everything was OK after that. I learned that price (the extra $5) isn't always worth the time I spent pulling my hair out. : Just wondering, what did you do to fix your system? : : Sorry, guys, couldn't wait any longer for response so I fixed it myself. : : : My sound has just started acting up.
