I can have one window open, or no windows and open one The screen will freeze. cntl alt del out of it usually but sometimes cntl alt del twice to get it off.

Problem started when the computer was not shut down properly, or the MAXi Gamer was installed. Pretty close to both. No conflicts with the Maxi. It is very close to the processor, and a little black strip like the PCI and AGP slots. Can't remember what it's called.

Possibly a conflict with your rage pro. Try and remove and reinstall drivers for rage pro, if no goog then try and remove and reinstall 3dfx drivers.
