VXD is drivers right? Or am I just stupid?

Anyway it started happening when I reinstalled a game Half-Life. A few times it went like the REAL screen saver and shut off my monitor like thing, but couldn't get it back. It did this a long time ago, but It was fixed when I updated video drivers with www.glsetup.com. I have since updated drivers... Deleted old drivers.. Uninstalled new drivers and downloaded them again. Rereinstalled Half-Life.

It happens when I alt-tab or escape from the game running in OpenGL and try to come back.
