before i play games i press ctrl-alt-delete and close all uneccessary programs. but the games still crash and i also get problems saying fault in kernel32.dll
please i am in dire need of help, it seems as though something is eating up system resources even though everything is closed(except explorer and systray), could something be running that isnt in the taskbar?

This might not work but its what i did go to "start menu" then "run" and type msconfig when the "system congiuration utility" comes up click on the general tab and disable the "load startup group items" option then click ok and restart your comp when prompted.:
