sounds like a hardware problem, find a freeware ram test, clean all connections to plug in devices/boards, and try another motherboard before trying a new cpu. swap with someone who has good parts and see how it goes.

: I have a pentium and all of a sudden one morning after I started up and went into My Computer/ C /Program Files a "explorer illegal error Kernel32.Dll came up.I am unable to go and open or explore My Computer or My Documents with out this error coming up.I have wiped out my system twice ,formated the hard drive and reinstalled Windows 98 2nd Edition and still have the problem. My hubbie is a tech and has taken my computer apart completly and replaced everything and still the error comes up.Before this happened I did NOT install anything new or down load anything.
: I don't have any problems going into Start/Programs and I have no problems running any programs from a Cd,ie:games etc.
