ok heres the situation.
I just finished building a new computer.
I have a:
Soyo Sv-7VDA motherboard (Socket 370)
Cyrix VIA 650Mhz processor
128MB DDR RAM
Jaton 8MB Video Card
D-Link DFE-530TX Ethernet Card
Onboard AC97 sound
Seagate 20gig HD
Philips cdrw, sanyo 24X cd-rom
3 1/2 floppy

thats the entire system...

ok the problem is this, after being on for anywhere between an hour and 3 hours, the entire system locks up, i cant ctrl+alt+del, i cant unlock the number lock on the keyboard etc... complete freeze up. i have to turn the system off, and restart it from there.
I have tried to get my BIOS to do everything automatically such as find processor, HD etc.. and I have also tried doing it manually. I have the latest version of my BIOS available. I have a brand new processor cooling fan installed. it also has a chipset cooling fan installed. i have a case cooling fan as well. Could it be possible for my power supply to maybe not be putting out enough wattage? currently i am runnung a 235 watt power supply. thats the only thing i could think of. my last PC got struck by lightning a week ago so all this stuff is brand new other than the case and the hard drive (which seems fine). the case power supply was burned up, so i replaced it with an older one (the 235 watt). any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Cyrix processors have been known to run hot. I have run several tests on my friend's computers with similar setups and have found that decreasing the clock speed of the Cyrix chip will stop lockups.

Another possibility is the Hardware configuration. I would attempt standard hardware troubleshooting if decreasing the Cyrix processor clock speed was unsuccessful. I would start with one device and work upwards until there are no lockups. Also, take a look at your IRQ's and see if you can change some of them so they do not share. Some devices do not work well with others sharing the same IRQ address.
