I've found 2 probable references:

a) probable 16 bit printer driver (try switching to a different printer or remove and install your printer driver)

b) IPF trouble shooter in MS Knowledge Base-> Templates & add-on related:

Please let me know if that works.
We have a lot of people using Word 2000 & Word 97 at work and I bet they are having similar error.
