I have a 200mhz compaq deskpro i just picked up to kick around and try to get running. I load up windows ME and everything looks fine untill it goes to start for the first time it will only start in safe mode. I choose to load things one at a time and when i get to load msmouse.vxd the computer stops and restarts whether i choose yes or no to loading it up? And will only restart in safe mode again.

do a msconfig in run, then deactivate the msmouse.vxd in sys.ini. then youll remove the mouse in props, then reistall it, then it will work as usual..

I'm building a PIII 450 using Windows ME and have the same problem. The build works fine under Windows 98SE, but when I bring it up to ME, the MSMOUSE.VXD problem kicks in. Also hoping to see a solution here.
