I have just loaded windows ME plus installed an additional 256 meg of memory. I keep getting the following error message when I try to run different programs: Exception 0E 0028:C004E4E9 in VXD VCACHE (01+00000E4D) call from 0028:C004A9C1 vxd vfat (01) 0000AED1
Please help

I have the same problem; I've tried a lot of different things but i mainly get the error while burning a cd. and i've wated a lot of cd's tring different ways to fix it but nothing seems to work. I have a re\wr disk now thou so i can do tests

Disabling write behind caching for all drives before installation corrected this issue.

Same problem. Apparently if you have more than 512Mb of RAM you might have to reset your SystemROMBreakPoint in Sys.ini. See MS article Q181966. Hope this helps.
