whenever I try to call up excel I get this error and the system crashes. No other programs do this. I have reinstalled windows ME and reinstalled excel application. I still have it happen.

no idea what to do now...and it's frustrating.

Yup..

rename excel.xlb are posted by others resolves the issues

Search for excel.xlb and rename it to excel0.xlb or whatever just as long as it's not excel.xlb. ;-)

Go to CNET message boards, under "PC applications" find the message of "Excel 200 doesn't open". You will find the solution.
