DFI AM33-EC motherboard onboard sound set to auto in Bios causes Win98SE not to boot.

Can't find driver that works.

fm.drv causes GPF

Hey, I had the same problem (am still having problems with sound card and drivers). I solved the boot up problem by going into the device manager and disabling everything in the sounds, video and game controller section except VIA. Also making sure that VIA is the only one that "exists in all" option is checked. That solved the boot up problem. I also have the soundblaster in there.
I had it going great for a while, and then had issues with RealOne after I uninstalled it, and now I have no sound at all. I'm still working on that, but I hope I helped you out a bit.

salut! je suis francais, et j'espere qu'on pourra me répondre. j'ai acheté un cable midi pour brancher mon synthé, et puis rien ne se passe, il n'a pas l'air de le reconnaitre. faudra t-il que je me procure un genre de sound-blaster?
