From: Tammy on 02/06/2002
I am desperate, one of my computers running Win98 SE was running fine this morning and when I turned it on in the afternoon, it booted up and shut down automatically. After several attempst at booting up, I lost everything. Now it only powers up, can anyone help me before it costs me a whole bunch of money? Thank you.

It could be that your video card or a PCI card may not be inserted correctly, justtake it out and put it back in again

You mean it powers up, but you get a blank screen?
If that's the case, it might be the video card. Maybe a loose cable? Or you can try replacing the RAM and see if that's the problem (just take one from another computer to try it out). It could also be a problem with the motherboard, or power supply, in which case, I hope your puter still has a warrenty.
