I have the same problem. Any solutions to this. Seems to come when I receive an attachment from someone I know or from myself (from another computer). Lasts a week or more then the problem disappears for a long time. But it keeps coming back...

I have Windows 98 and have OE 6, and I get the same Kernel32.dll error, but I have unchecked all the rules boxes and still get a problem. The problem actually occurs when I try to download from my pop3 account. Any suggestions? I have checked all sorts of solutions and can't find the problem. I don't have any virus's nor do I run McAfee..... Please help

I cured mine by unchecking ALL my message rules! This link is for a related problem, but you can use the pics to find out how to uncheck your message rules.

Thank you Jeff!
Simply disconnect from internet when fixing. Duh, disconnected, changed my settings, closed OE, reconnected and opened OE and tada. How many faq gave the same solution that never worked. They left out one important step. Disconnect. Thank you again!

There are 2 causes for this problem. The first is the rules may be corrupted in OE6. You will need to be disconnect from the internet to fix this. Open OE6, click on tools, then mail. Edit your account and make sure under the delivery tab or Server tab there are no check marks next too download from server and delete from server. Restart OE with the connection to the internet. This will rebuild the rules. You can also try renaming your folders.dbx file on your hard drive. This will also cause OE to rebuild the MSIMN file. Good Luck
