WINWORD - protection fault in module HPFWIN21.DLL

I have an old Compaq with Windows98 and Office2000. For the last few days whenever I start Word it crashes and says:

WINWORD caused a general protection fault in module HPFWIN21.DLL

Shell I re-install Office/Word, or Windows? Or is there any other fix? I had the same problem a year ago and nothing seemed to help until I re-formatted the disk and installed all from scratch. Please advise. Mucho thanks, Matt.

I have a hp 815c and I have had the same problem with winword (HPFWIN21.DLL) .I changed the printer driver and it works!Thanks for help!!!

I had the same problem.
Re-installing Office 2000 did't help.
Finally un-installing my HP printer-driver and re-installing it, solved the problem.

Du you have a DeskJet 815c??? Take an other Driver!
