I have a HP Pavillon 6630 and Windows 98. I have just installed a Hi-Val External USB 2.0 CD-Rewritable drive, and now i don't have any sound in my computer. I have tried the troubleshooting guide in my system, but nothing works. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated ASAP. Thanks!

Look in the device manager and see if there are any conficts

(right-click my computer -->properties->device manager tab --> look for yellow exclamation points)

if remove the External Burner from the device manager, disconnect it from your computer, and reboot do you get sound again?
