CD drive doesn't recognize when a different CD Post a Reply

I'm sorry if this is a repost. I found the solution once, but the magic isn't happening for me today =P.

When I boot up with a CD in the drive, it works perfectly. It reads the CD with no problems. However, when I remove that CD and insert a new one, the computer still thinks that the old CD is in the drive, and even attempts to read the old files it thinks are still there. And yes, I have virus checked, updated drivers, defragged, etc...

I recall finding the solution once, and that the problem was caused by the installation of some weird cd burning software: alcohol 120% in my case. Uninstalling the software does not fix the problem.
