Error starting program, plats.dll file is missing/ Post a Reply
From: Bridgdtt on 12/04/2004
I installed a Panda antivirus software. I deleted a bunch of virus ads the program found. Now the computer won't start right. 1st there is a start program error message that says Plats.dll file is missing. over top of my password login. I click ok and the password box is colored grey instead of white, i click ok and it brings up the blue screnn, I see a flash of blue acreen along with a glimpse of a start button at botton of screen and then flash! the screen is gone and just a blue screen is up..blank, no icons or anything, can't start in safe mode, either. I click Ctrl + Alt + Del and bring up the task box, and there are no browsers showing in there either.

help..........I just want to browse again...

Just installed Panda AV 2005 on a friend's computer with same result. He is running Win98. The pre install scan found 2 infected files and disinfected them, but no indication as to what they were. Tried uninstalling and reinstall but will not boot beyond loading drivers.
I have used Panda for three years with no problems, and have just renewed with Titanium 2005. Running XP SP2, and all is O.K. except that I disabled the new Panda Firewall (I run Zone Alarm) and now there is a warning, and threat to disconnect each time I go online, total nuisance!!

I've had the same problem for weeks. Their tech support asked the usual questions about operating system, etc. The finally sent a utility program and instructions on how to completely uninstall the program and remove all traces from the registry. I reinstalled it, and the problem remains. Funny, but I have no problem finding plats.dll in the Pandasift folder. I looked in the Windows\Temp folder and noticed that all the recent Pandasoft updates referred to fixing the very problem we're having. Time to uninstall and move on, I think. Wonder how much trouble I'll have getting a refund?

I have a customer who also had this problem. We are working on it, but so far found and removed the vbs_redlof.a virus.

That problem is solved by reinstaling the Panda Software. At least it is the solucion given by Panda Software. Does anyone already tried to do that?
