 Game's Locking Up Pc (manual restart needed) Post a Reply

i dont know why this is happening but i bought a new pc on sunday from pc world £1200 worth, it's a pentium 4, 3.4ghz, 512ddr ram, 250gb sata hdd (7200rpm) with dvd 16x and dvdrw 8x and ATI Radeon 9550 256mb, 17inch tft monitor. during game play my pc's will just freeze nothing will unfreeze it, so i restart and yet the same problem happens again and again, and i would be very grateful for any help for you nice people :) ?

Well guy's i have similar problem but at this point it only happens with one game. I just thinking that it might be the cd itself. just reaching at this point for an answer to the problem.

well boys....i think the answer is simple.
The original post has a fairly easy solution. I beleive that the drivers for your graphics card must be updated even though it is a new chip. It could also be the actual card itself. How much memory does the card itself have, and what kind of card is it?
as for the pentium II operator, i beleive that it is just the computer which it at fault. The procesor , even though you have enough ram, cannot handle the ouput of the program.

I have exactly the same problem, though with a somewhat older PC. I have a intel pentium II 600 mhz, 256 mb RAM, a radeon 9200 128 mb, and a creative audio PCI. when I play a game, it just totally freezes and i have to reboot. this seems to happen only with some games, for example C&C renegade (that one actually freezes when I try to install it). but not with the sims, elder scrolls: morrowind, IL2: sturmovik, et cetera et cetera. I already updated all my drivers but it doesn't help. Can anyone help me(and Michael)?
