Thinkpad 600E with Windows 98 crashes when running Post a Reply
From: David on 09/14/2004
I have an IBM Thinkpad 600E running Windows 98 which works fine when plugged in to the mains power. However whenever I try to run it from the battery it crashes within a couple of minutes, seemingly regardless of the application (Internet Explorer, Word ...). There does not seem to be any pattern to the error messages which are many and varied (Fatal exception occured at 0028:C004F320 in VXD VCACHE... Winword caused a general protection fault in module GDI.EXE .... to name but two). If I reboot and plug into the mains it runs fine until I plug the power again. Any ideas?
