I have a Compaq with Windows XP. Since July, everytime I search the net the following message appears: "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the incovenience". The error signature is AppName: iexplore.exe, AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180, ModName: msbcrt.dll, ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180, Offse: 00030ac4. Please help me.

I have exactly the same problem and have all Windows XP updates and hotfixed up to date. Can someone please help? This problem makes browsing the internet w/ IE ver 6 next to impossible. thank you.

Have you kept up with all the Microsoft updates? If not, use the windows update feature in XP to do this as soon as possible.
