About 10 days ago, my computer suddenly started closing internet-connected programs without prompting while I was using them. The disconnections occur regularly about every 10 minutes. The cable connection is stable and strong because the two other computers that are attached wirelessly to the router do not get disconnected. I have run ad-aware and the 'housecall' virus scan from TrendMicro. Gateway technicians cannot seem to tell me what to do other than completely uninstall my operating system and re-install it. Does anyone know of a simpler solution to correct this problem?
