Permission Denied when formatting Zip disk Post a Reply
From: Eloise on 06/02/2004
My machines are in a lab. Many difft users work on them throughout the day. The users long onto a domain called "MAINDOMAIN", "MAINDOMAIN" is trusted by "MYDOMAIN". Some these Domain Users can access the Zip drive (IOMEGA) but if they try to format the drive they get the message "Permission denied: You do not have sufficient priveleges"

I have tried explicity setting the security options in the mmc, so that Domain Users have complete rights to these drives but it is unaffected.

Any ideas on what to check next? It is not the disk because administrator can format and do whatever, so it is definitely associated to a user. I havent test local user yet, so I dont know if local users behave different than domain users.
