I was online and didnt think i had downloaded anything when i got an error from Norton Antifreeze saying cg32EH caused a general protection fault in modlule DIBENG.DLL I kept getting this message so i uninstalled Norton Antifreeze. I now cant open anything from explorer including control panel. I get the message explorer.exe caused fault#cooooo5nvx2.dll@address017s:10010310 . I can access run and find to open some programs. I tried to reinstall norton antivirus but it wouldnt let me(says I need to reinstall earlier version but cant get into control panel to remove it), althouth it let me log on to update the virus updates but did not install them. I tried the startup disk to reinstall but that didnt fix it either, but it now wont scan the disk due to rewrite. I can only use a cd as the floppy was broken a while back. I am running on windows 98.Any ideas? WIth appreciation.

I wasnt sure if this was the same problem reported by another user wtih a vx2.dll problem, but I applied the same solution provided by Liz, by changing the file name after doing a find from the Start bar. This fixed it straight away. Thanks heaps for the posts, I was about to give up.
