I got the same message, but I am unable to rename(or delete) my normal template. "Cannot rename. Access is denied.... may be in use" is the only response I get.
Can anyone help?

Thanks so much Oney!
I did the "oldnormal" change and it worked!
I had no success trying the repair re-install for office.
You solved a huge problem for me.
Thanks.

Do a search for a file called "normal.dot"
Change file name to "oldnormal.dot"
Then restart computer
This seemed to correct my problem.
good luck.
