all has been working well until today,i bought an acer 19 inch monitor and an xsonic(some generic brand im guessin) keyboard and a generic optical mouse. after installing these everything worked fine for about 4 hours when the computer just randomly shut down, so i restarted it and logged in again.. about 1 min later it shut down, i repeated this process 3 times, then was able to run adaware and spybot, however it shut down about 5 mins after finishing scanning. Im not sure what the problem was .. so plz help

thankyou

chances are irregular shut downs are cause by your psu playing up. suggestion is to change your psu.

What did you find as the problem with this??

I just installed Win98SE on a machine, with a new HDD, and previously had Win ME on the machine (and old HDD). Now I get the machine up and running, but it shuts down intermittantly. Just out of the blue.

Let me know if you found out anything as to the cause.

Thanks.
