Windows XP: CD and USB devices not recognized unle Post a Reply
From: Andrew on 03/03/2004
I have Windows XP Professional with the latest service pack and updates and it runs on a Dell with a PIII 933. One day with out warning the computer will not recognize a CD when inserted nor will it recognize my compact flash card when I plug it in to the reader or when I plug in a USB device. This is all while the computer is already running. If I leave any of these thing in or connected to the computer after I restart they will all be recognized but if I unplug it or take the CD out and put it back in they aren't there and I have to restart to see them again. I have reinstalled Windows and updated it with all the latest updates and it worked fine for a few days then it started doing it again. I know alot about computers but I need help with this problem.
